Prepare for the worst!

Prepare now as the Wings head to preseason camp!

As the Wings descend upon Traverse City for their preseason camp, I fear the top priority will be working on their golf games in anticipation of an early exit next spring. This season will not be one for the faint of heart. It would be prudent to avoid any hope for success so as to avoid disappointment later. Things could not be worse at this time. The team is a year older, they have lost their entire third line, and their hopes rest on the shaky groin of Hasek. With little left in the way of scoring, the Dominator will have to set a record for goals against and shutouts this year. Do not let yourself be swept up in the promise of a new season. Those feelings of optimism will lure you in, only to crush you later in a streak of bitter defeats. The time to prepare is now, before the season starts, rather than wait until it is too late. Those that have prepared will survive the long season. Those fans that have allowed optimism to cloud their thinking will wonder later how it all went wrong so fast. Lang will have Chicago on fire with a 50+ goal season, Kariya will have St. Louis playing a different tune this season, and the Preds will make easy prey of the Wings, showing Detroit what a true fan base looks like. Doom is lurking around the corner, storm clouds are building on the horizon, and the time to take cover is now.
